These are baby chicks. Some are injured or weak, some are simply surplus male chicks, therefore, they cannot make a profit for the egg industry, so they are thrown away like garbage. Is this who we are? Is this humanity? This is the reality behind egg production. Most male chicks are considered as “useless”. Many are ground up alive or thrown in the trash alive…this suffering is what we produce by consuming eggs. Babies are being thrown away like garbage, alive.

it’s hard for me to feel bad for little chickens when people are murdering their babies every day because they got pregnant and don’t want to be anymore so they ‘take care of it’.   Idk, it’s just what popped in my head after reading this.  and I’m SURE most of these people who oppose eating eggs don’t oppose aborting a child….

As a pro-life vegetarian, I’m going to have to disagree with your last statement. I don’t eat chicken or meat of any kind (although I do eat eggs and some dairy products), and I also strongly oppose abortion because I believe that all life is precious. All of it. I feel like it’s not my right to decide what gets to live and what has to die. I don’t believe that being a vegetarian/vegan is right for everybody. For me personally, though, it’s completely a moral issue, the only way I can live with a clear conscience — I can’t be responsible for something dying just so I can eat it. It’s the same thing with abortion; I can’t be responsible for someone dying just because I don’t want to take care of him. These are both important issues to me, and both of them are heartbreaking in my opinion. I don’t think it’s right to kill animals purely for pleasure, nor do I think it’s right to abort a baby for arbitrary reasons.
